Lalbagh Botanical Gardens or Lalbagh is an old botanical garden in Bengaluru, India.
First planned and laid out during the rule of Hyder Ali and later adorned with unique plant species by his son Tipu Sultan, it was later managed under numerous British Superintendents before Indian Independence.
It was responsible for the introduction and propagation of numerous ornamental plants as well as those of economic value.
It also served a social function as a park and recreational space, with a central glass house dating from 1890 which was used for flower shows.
In modern times it hosts two flower shows coinciding with the week of Republic Day (26 January) and Independence Day (15 August).
As an urban green space along with Cubbon Park, it is also home to numerous wild species of birds and other wildlife.
The garden also has a lake adjoining a large rock on which a watchtower had been constructed during the reign of Kempegowda II.

Ulsoor Lake
Ulsoor Lake is one of the biggest and most beautiful lakes of the Bangalore city.
It is located in the north-eastern fringe of the city, close to the eastern terminus of the M. G. Road.
The lake derives its name from the locality where it is situated, namely, Ulsoor. The beauty of the lake is enhanced by the presence of several islands doting it.
The lake serves as a venue of the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrated in the month of August/September every year.
It is believed that the Ulsoor Lake was created by King Kempe Gowda II during the latter half of the second century.
In the ancient times Ulsoor Lake was known as the ‘Halsur’ or ‘Alasur’ lake. However, even though the lake is dated to the time of Kempe Gowda, the present lake was created at a much later time by Sir Lewin Bentham Bowring, the then Commissioner of Bangalore.
Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road
Mahatma Gandhi Road is also known as M.G. Road is a road in Bengaluru, India. It runs east from Trinity circle at one end to Anil Kumble circle at the other. Known as South Parade in pre-independence era, it was renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Road on 26 February 1948. M. G
M. G. Road is also one of the busiest roads in the city and is lined on one side with retail stores, food outlets and restaurants.
It has many office buildings, shops and theatres. It is also a home to a large number of buildings and banks.
There are two Metro stations on M. G. Road, the eponymous station and Trinity.
Iskcon Temple
Sri Radha Krishna Temple has deities of Radha and Krishna located at Rajajinagar, in North Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
It is one of the largest ISKCON temples in the world. The temple is a huge cultural complex that was inaugurated in 1997 by Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma.
ISKCON Bangalore is a charitable society with the objective of propagating Krishna Consciousness all over the world, as explained by Srila Prabhupada, whose teachings are based on Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
The society was registered in the year 1978 under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960.
The objectives of the society are derived from the Seven Purposes of ISKCON as stated by Srila Prabhupada.
The original simple temple design started in 1990 estimated to cost Rs.10 crore gave way to a more stunning, unique architectural model that cost Rs.32 crore.
The construction started in 1990. Six hundred skilled craftsmen spent more than 10 million man-hours to construct this architectural wonder. 32,000 cubic meters of stone, 131,250 tons of cement and 1,900 tons of steel were used in the construction. Subsequently the temple construction was completed in 1997.
Cubbon Park
Cubbon Park, officially called Sri Chamarajendra Park is a landmark ‘lung’ area of Bengaluru city, located within the heart of the city in the Central Administrative Area
Spread over an area of 300 acres, Cubbon Park in the city of Bangalore is a major sightseeing attraction rich in green foliage.
It is a green belt region of the city and is an ideal place for nature lovers and those seeking a calm atmosphere. Having been laid down by Lord Cubbon, the park is named so in his honour.
It is home to more than 6,000 trees that support a vibrant ecosystem. In addition to being a natural sightseeing destination, some of the major structures of the city such as the Attara Kacheri, Cubbon Park Museum and Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Park are also situated here.
Another famous attraction in the Cubbon Park is The Bangalore Aquarium, which is the second largest aquarium in India.
Cubbon Park was originally spread over 100 acres, which was later extended to 300 acres. First established in the year 1870 by Sri John Meade (acting Commissioner of Mysore), Cubbon Park has a long history. Major General Richard Sankey (Chief Engineer of the State) conceived this park in honour of Sri John Meade. Initially, the park was called “Meade’s Park” and later came to be known as the Cubbon Park. Since the introduction of the park, it was made and improved in many ways.
In the year 1927, the park was officially renamed as “Sri. Chamarajendra Park” to mark the Silver Jubilee of Sri. Krishnaraja Wodeyar’s rule in Mysore State. At present, the Cubbon Park is under the control of the Department of Horticulture. The Deputy Director of Horticulture (Cubbon Park) is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the park.
